We’ve written a detective story/game and I’m wondering if anybody likes it. It’s kind of a detective story that “tells itself”.
https://www.loomers.world/derek/
You’re detective Derek Maker and you have to extract a confession by interrogating the suspects of an art heist.
We worked hard on writing the script (it’s not AI generated!) and we programmed an AI to play out the other characters.
Solving it seems pretty difficult, because so far nobody’s come close to cracking it!
Can you solve it? And do you think it’s any good?
thanks for making and sharing this! :) I’m playing now
edit:
i saw a funky thing in one of my chats:
spoiler
function_call: add_lie(lie_string=‘Peter Scrunch says he spoke to Victor Esplenade briefly on the night of the robbery.’)
but that’s it so far!
Ah! I thought we caught all of these, but apparently not. The game keeps track of the lies that each character tells, but it’s prone to repeat it into the character’s speech. It does make the game easier when you know exactly when they’re telling a fib!
Did you play more than one game?
I really enjoyed the game, but… I did lose despite having fully solved the case and got a confession. Maida told me it was okay to do, but it wasn’t?

Oh yeah, that’s frustrating, sorry!
We’ll need to teach Maida to be more aware of the rules…
Thanks for trying it out!
