    The last paragraph sums up my opinion very well:

    He concludes, “The truth is simple: Oracle did not create JavaScript. Oracle does not control JavaScript. Oracle should not own the trademark for JavaScript.”

    Wish Oracle would let this trademark already go…

      “JavaScript” was genericized before oracle even acquired the name (via sun microsystems).

    I still don’t get why the modern web is built on such a problematic language. Do webdevs also have a kink for getting sued by Oracle?
