This is important, don’t get me wrong, but most people can’t drive to bum-fuck for a protest. Most US State capitals are in the middle of nowhere purposefully. Props to all the organizers getting stuff like this off the ground. We need more material means of dissent.
Many people have expressed this concern and it does make sense i.m.o. Other people have said that, to be disruptive, a protest taking place when lawmakers are in their offices is a good idea … so they will experience the protest first hand. (a little like what happened during the January 6th insurrection i should try to find a better example)
Some people will not be able to attend but this might be just one group of (50) protests in an escalation of many more …

It’s also in the middle of the week and people have jobs so they can do stuff like keep a roof over their heads.
Yes a weekend would be less disruptive. But there would also be a hell of a lot more people able to participate.
