We didn’t just realize it now, we knew since before 2016. It’s Americans that seem to have forgotten.

      hold up, nobody forgot.

40% of us tried desperately to stop it from happening

40% of us willingly voted for a dictator for some kink

20% of us refused to vote because “both sides are the same” (or some dumb shit like that)

point is, some of us are just as much of victims as y’all are.

Yeah, I believe Americans who consider themselves “independent” are something like 40%. In essence, Americans are still moderates all things considered. If the US has proportional representation government, there’d be a hung parliament, or maybe even a ruling progressive party because it will be easier to elect a third party.

2/3 of the country fine with the current administration is “moderate”?

yeah. Honestly, I don’t think it’s that unreasonable to look at the system we have and conclude that it doesn’t make that much of a difference.

I mean, it does and people should vote… but it would be really really nice to have a parliamentary system.

Don’t blame the people, blame the 2 party system and the unwillingness to reform it.

We had a choice between Nazi solutes and not Nazi solutes.

The people are deeply fucking moronic to have chosen the former.

I’ll happily blame the people. the same way I blame the people that don’t read warning signs because they think they’re the exception.

you know, the signs that read “don’t lean on railing”? and then those people ignore it and lean on it anyway. they end up killing themselves and the ten other people that were leaning on the railing.

guess what. there were warning signs all over the place. hell, here’s one right now

this what you wanted when you pushed to abolish the two party system two weeks before the election in November?

What is a railing for if not preventing people from falling down somewhere? A railing is not primarily a decorative item. If it fails if someone leans against it it fails as a railing.

to assume makes an ass out of u and me

I just hope that when the usa crashes europe learns its lession from it and has hopefully enough time left to prevent it here.

Blaming the people just means the device and conquer strategy against reform won.

Yes but let’s not forget that you only have a 2 party system which lead to this and could’ve been fixed at some point.

(yes I agree with you if you as a random person ask what could I have done the actions are very limited)

I’ve seen supposed democrats rally against their own interests because their candidate wasn’t the perfect example of virtue; because Harris didn’t deviate far enough from Biden’s policy on Gaza, or because her candidacy was pushed through instead of another potential candidate. I’ve seen them vote for that hopeless independent because they’d rather risk four more years of Trump than accept Harris’ imperfections. They are complicit, and now they get to burn in that dumpster fire. Only 1459 days left of that, then, who knows.

How about instead of fighting against strawmen you start fighting against fascist my brother in the divided states.

It was always gonna be harder than just voting anyways, but even then there’s always good reason to fight and to hope.

It was always gonna be harder than just voting anyways…

            what a foolish perspective.

yes, it’s hard to fight against tyranny. but it’s even harder when the tyrant’s boot is on your throat.

this country gave up on the dream of a better tomorrow and turned its back on billions of people for what?

I’ll be turning my back on them now, building my own little corner of paradise.

call me when the fights start, I’ve got enough rage in me to burn across a hundred thousand skys and it would be a shame if the tyrants never felt it.
