Likes: snakes, magic, & death
Voldemort likes death? Wasn’t Tom Riddle’s fear of death the main instigation which lead to him to, y’know, become Voldemort?
I think it was also the racism and desire to subjugate the muggles.
But everyone has that
Only other people’s
He also apparently likes getting stoned
I forget, how does Medusa work? Do you turn to stone when she looks at you, or when you look at her?
When you look directly at her, presumably her face.
It’s a metaphor for the intellect. A hundred competing thoughts, like writhing snakes. You are frozen by indecision.
But that’s mythology for you. Literalised metaphors and vice versa.
Ooh. What other metaphors have I missed from Greek mythology. Is the minotaur a penis? Are sirens prostitutes? Is the cyclops a penis? Etc.
Voldemort seems to be doing exactly that in this comic, with no ill effects. I wonder if he has some sort of immunity due to being a parselmouth…
Likely the horcruxes. Or, getting turned to stone is a euphemism and voldemort is impotent due to his experiments, which we do have some evidence for.
Or maybe turning to stone is a euphemism and he’s bricked the fuck up, but just out of frame.
Ah, I had not considered the potential effects of the horcruxes.
Good question, not sure either.
IIRC it was to punish her pride, so probably when someone looks at her
She had sex with Poseidon (or was raped by him) in Athena’s temple so Athena cursed her. But her parents were gods so I don’t think she was without power before she was cursed. Even if she was mortal.
Thanks !
