Got a partial TFCC tear climbing like six months ago and recovery has been slow. Ortho doesn’t think it needs operating and PT likes progress, so I guess I’m inclined to agree.
Anyone here have personal experience? Things are mostly recovered but it’s been very, very slowly improving for a couple months now. Like barely. Is the tail end meant to take this long?
Edit: I’m in my late 20s
Yeah, I’ve swapped out most exercises for wrist friendly ones. It’s just, I have to do a lot of decline ring push ups to make up for losing every bench press movement and I fuckin hate those. Sadly they’re the only chest workout we can figure that keep the wrists in a neutral grip.
Slowly, more exercises are returning, but the ones I want back most will be the last to come. This is easily the injury I regret most, I truly hope none of you ever get it.
Can’f you use dumbbells with a neutral grip instead of barbells? Stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFbifMHOXPc
They allow for greater ROM and you can use a heavier one for your healthy wrist.
My thinking was it wasn’t enough weight. I’ll watch the video soon and see though, if it works for that guy it should work for me
