I expect that more and more of these ginormous media conglomerates will cave in to conservative lunatics. Won’t be long until the Overton Window is so far right that it’ll be OK for movies, series etc. to be openly transphobic (again)

This thread is going off the rails and the majority of the discussion is no longer about the tv show. Locking it.

Good, we don’t need to be normalizing this shit. Especially at a young age where people are more vulnerable to influence from outside of the home.

Trans people exist. Gay people exist. Equally representing people is not “normalizing this shit”. Stop being a bigot.

Asian people exist…where’s all my representation there? Where the hell are all my Asians in TV shows? Why is nobody standing up for them? Where are my Spaniards? Where are my Hawaiians?

Where’s my representation for people who don’t fall under your religion?

Are you even looking? I have heard good things about Interior Chinatown which came out recently. Money Heist is a Spanish show that is insanely popular. I’m able to point to shows I don’t even watch.

It’s not a religious act to acknowledge that trans people exist and shouldn’t be marginalized in the same way that Asian people or Spaniards shouldn’t be.

Mate, have you not seen interior Chinatown? Spaniards? Really? That’s your choice of a underrepresented people? The dudes that raped two continents and named half those areas after themselves. They have their representation. Hawaiian? The “actor” The Rock exists… yeah. We should do better for Hawaiians.

Research has shown that even if you raise a cis kid as trans, it doesn’t work. They end up just as depressed as transfolk. Take your bigotry somewhere else.

So, that’s perfect – stop trying to then. Stop trying to introduce it everywhere. It’s a statistical outlier, and we shouldn’t be propagandizing the youth with it. This is just religion in a different coat. Christians make up a majority of the people in America, as well as Europe (so, most English speaking TV) and you don’t see the cross being tossed into every childrens show in order to push it. So if we don’t do it with that religion, we should stop doing it with this whole trans religion. Because that’s what it’s become at this point – a religion.

When you believe that showing children that something exists is equivalent to propaganda, you are part of the problem.

God forbid someone have to tell their kids “sometimes men love other men”, or “sometimes, people are born with a body and mind that don’t agree with each other”.

You are using the exact same arguments people have used to keep gay people, black people, and anyone else they hate from being represented in media forever

You don’t see the cross being tossed into every children’s show

This is a ridiculously inaccurate statement. Characters have been going to church, or reading the Bible, or wearing a cross necklace, or any of a hundred other forms of displaying Christian identity in television, movies, and ALL other media since the rise of Christianity.

I’m not sure whether you’re being intentionally misleading or just are blind to the reality you’ve been living in, but it’s seriously worrying.

Seriously, reflect on yourself a bit. You sound really ignorant and hateful

Trying to talk sense to bigots is nearly always pointless – the majority of them are fundamentally shitty people and will never change.

Just like these goddamn lefties, gotta beat some sense into them, and force them to use their right hands. That will definitely work!
