It’s an enabler of more. It allows me to transport me and my family to the movies when we want, it allows us to go camping, it also means we can easily traverse many shops and buy what we want without having to worry about how to get it home, etc.

When we buy groceries, we buy them in bulk and keep meats in a freezer out back, so it’s easy to transport a whole trunk-load of groceries home.

It’s as much as an accessory as that too. It’s like clothing. I like my small 2 seaters, and as a family we like to drive around and play ingress/pokemon go, together.

I want my car, and I want 100 others. I just can’t afford all the cars I want. Most of the people I know also want more cars or sportier, more expensive cars.

They want to get places in those cars. Why do you think everyone “goes to work”? They go to work, because … they’re providing a service for people who are…

Driving cars to the places they want to get to, for commerce. This shit isn’t mandated. You don’t HAVE to own a car. Everyone WANTS to own cars.

So, I don’t know if you know this or not, but a majority of people want their cars. Nobody is forcing their use. Roads exist because people want their cars, and they want to be able to get places in those cars.

I act like I do online and offline, with one exception - at my job. At my job, it’s customer-service face until I die. While I am at work, nothing matters besides your interest in spending money.

I’d almost say I’m more polite online than I am in person. But others don’t really say the same stupid bullshit to me that they do when not face to face, so generally I’m not getting into the same interactions. However, they do happen - and my wife says I will absolutely get myself shot one day with the way I talk to people.

I tried. I tried so hard. Attempted 3x to watch this. First time I got 5 episodes in. Second time I got 12 episodes in. Third time I got 16 episodes in.

Each time, I tried so hard to continue going. I’m sure it was great when it was released, but holy shit it was such a SLOG.

I got an Android phone from 2018, and it still works as good as ever. I still play modern games on a desktop PC, and uBlock Origin/Firefox means I never see a single ad. I don’t use applications with ads. You shouldn’t either. Start focusing on swapping yourself over to F/OSS stuff, and this world you’re so frustrated over – it goes away. Just stop consuming everything.

You should engage them in debate though. The people who need to do so are always such cowards that they’d rather ban and run.

This was not what I thought it was going to be when I initially downloaded it. Unfortunately it’s existence is just an example of the stuff that exists within the broader topic of ‘anime’ which hinders wider acceptance. I really wish it existed under its own category somehow; as people point to this any time someone mentions the topic - and it’s embarrassing on a wider scale, as it’s mostly shut-ins and incels which enjoy this kind of thing. The fact that it’s getting a second season is only testament to the growing social problems that exist on a wider scale.

LG WebOS doesn’t have good support for things like Jellyfin. If you want to ever build a library of media and let them have easy access to it, then WebOS is gonna suck, so will Samsung’s Tizen. But all the Android TVs have access.

Don’t know if you’re interested in that kind of thing, but figured I’d share it in case it was a factor.
