It is a peeve of mine in a game where it’s like

    • go to a cave. It’s empty
    • go to a town. Guy says cave is haunted please clear it out
    • go back to same cave. Now it’s full of ghosts and skeletons!

I feel like this has become less common in the last decade though

I really enjoyed the few times in Witcher 3 where I arrived to a quest giver and Geralt was “oh yeah, lucky you I came across this earlier on”. Alas, the few times it happened were so unexpected I completely missed it apart from the “quest complete” kinda pop-up.

Yes I don’t like enemies that spawn. Especially in a single player game I think a world where everything gets created with the game world and stays that way is very interesting. Of course it’s good if events can change the sandbox, like if you don’t deal with a goblin camp near the village then they raid the village later.

    Obvious advertisement is obvious advertisement.

I looked it up, might try it, it gives off the faintest Morrowind vibes.

I love Obsidian writing and quest design but the gameplay for this one looks bad from the trailers. Like a UE5 asset flip.

I hope I’m wrong. Will play for sure if it’s on gamepass.

I can already tell it’s gonna flop. I hope I get proved wrong but any AAA game from the past 8 years is dog shit

They’ve released three games since being bought by Microsoft, all of them good. I honestly find all the dooming weird. It’s as if people want this game to be bad just because of Microsoft. I’ll revise my opinion in the face of evidence that they’re no longer producing the quality that I’ve come to expect from them.

Was more of a general rule of thumb.
I’ve no ill will towards Obsidian and I’m definitely looking forward to a first person fantasy game that’s not Bethesda junk! But yeah, I’ll judge when reviews hit Steam and not a moment sooner.

Neither can I but that was then this is now. I’m just very skeptical when I see a $70 price tag. AAA Games in the last 3 years especially have been flopping hard

          I don’t think that’s a fair assessment.

Baldur’s gate 3, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom are all triple A in regards to budget and hardly what I would call flops.

I think Avowed will definitely have its fans. Performance issues like stuttering look like they’ll be an issue though, but it’s all stuff that can improve.

It kinda bothers me that they’re making big deals of the bare minimum. Is that where we’re at now?
