Fuck me. Time to find a new brand of tv.
I’m not in the market for a TV because the one I bought 6 years ago is still running fine and wonderful but…
I allowed it to do a firmware update and that almost completely destroyed the television.
It became so slow you could press a button and go fuck your wife and come back before the change actually happened on screen.
Due to that I have already decided to not purchase any Vizio TV ever again.
Good to see my original decision validated I guess.
I connected one of my Vizio tvs to the internet once, it was painful to use. So I disconnected it and used my old Roku box. Works great.
I have 3 at work, and two at home. All do not use the smart features.
So it is really responsive now?
It is back to being more responsive after calling tech support and waiting to get help so that I could learn that I needed to redownload the original firmware and reflash it back to factory default.
Never give the TV the wifi password.
Yep. And if you buy a TV and it requires internet connection just to set up, use the hotspot on your phone so that it does not have any way to connect to your home network.
