This is something I would expect to see in a meme making fun of AI, not coming from a multi-billion dollar, global mega-corporation.

    Gross.

The worlds first AI generated TV ad was for Toys-R-us (Canada, I believe) and was surprisingly decent. Not amazing, but certainly passable compared to plenty of non-AI ads. When I saw that I knew we’d have many more AI ads because the cost of producing them is likely startlingly cheap and lightning fast compared to the casting, set design, shooting, and editing needed for traditional ads.

it’s okay, because i will likely never see it. i haven’t seen an ad in months. it’s because i don’t watch tv and the web has become unusable without adblock. i would be okay with unintrusive ads on the sides of webpages, but it’s too complicated to allow only those. so it makes sense for ad companies to switch to horrible AI ads, because (exaggerated) only like 5 rednecks without adblock see them.

Ah, but by making some buzzword ai ad and also, having it suck, they’ve got “news” outlets talking about it. And by extension, us talking about it. Yes, you and I try to live in ad- free bubbles, but here we are thinking about Coke.

it’s actually ironic, that i switched from coca cola zero to water with guarana powder last month. it’s slightly less convenient and doesn’t taste so good, but i think my health already improved a bit. drinking that much acid and sweetener really did a number on me.
