I’m planning a road trip in January with my sister and this will be the first long road trip I’ve taken in my car. I know we will have to stop a couple times, and I’m just trying to plot out our path.

My only other method has been traditionally to use Google maps’ “search on the way” feature while also letting it know I drive an EV, it’s actually really good at knowing what chargers and connector types are where, and if it’s in the EVGO (maybe also Electrify America, can’t remember) network you can actually see the number available ahead of time

ABRP will automatically do all of the “where is an open charger with my connector” for you, as well as help estimate the range of your vehicle, adapting as you drive and update it. I used it for a couple of years before I got used to how my car worked, now I do the planning myself because it’s worth saving the cash with how infrequently I use the app

Basically it comes down to the questions: do you confidently know about how far you can drive in your current vehicle & do you want to find chargers ahead of time manually or make an app do it?
