As an aspiring comedian, I never liked hinchcliff. His “Kill Tony” podcast and format has always been ridiculously racist/sexist. He’s a “shock comedian” just like Anthony Jeselnik. They say the most upsetting, shitty things, and because it’s so awkward and shitty, it makes people laugh. This is because after saying something horrible, the audience is forced to make a decision. Either the comedian is a terrible person with terrible opinions, OR the comedian is playing a character who happens to be a terrible person (think It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

The problem with this approach, is that it’s only funny if the comedian is an otherwise good person. However, with a lot of these “shock comedians,” you can tell that they’re not playing a character, they’re just shitty people. hinchcliff is one of those people.

I never noticed it was the same guy.

Guess I’m not watching that anymore. I only watched the Dr Phil skit, that was somewhat funny, but that’s it.

I don’t care for hinchcliff, but he is no fool and he is a sharp comedian. These were low level hack purposefully racist jokes. Most don’t know that he wrote for the WWE, he knows this audience extremely well. I honestly think he’s playing both sides here. If Trump loses he will have helped by making maga look bad and racist etc as is currently happening and he’ll come out with a revelation that it was all an act. And he will have been paid to do it. If Trump wins he gets to be king racist comic and continues his colbert-esque act for them. His humor is specifically edgy and racial but far more clever than what he did for this rally. That’s my theory anyway.
