Amen, Metal Gear died after Kojima was fired. Metal Gear Survive was basically necrophilia in a video game form.
Yeah, I mean, don’t get me wrong, you probably can make something like MG Revengeance or some shit like that, but at that point it’s pointless to call it MGS, it doesn’t have anything resembling Kojima’s works.
Also note how the games were slowly turning towards more or a more fluid action, whereas in MGS1 action is discouraged through game play to portray the anti-belligerent subtext of the work.
Gotta keep those copyrights fresh so they can keep selling the rights to gambling device manufacturers.

While I’m a huge Silent Hill fan (I even moderate /r/SilentHill on reddit), I’m not sure I’m excited for this. Konami is no longer fit to make games. I hope they outsource it to a decent studio.
