    Probably my favorite part about Lemmy.

    Less power to the mods, more power to the people!

    Censorship is for the weak!

      An instance admin absolutely could make direct changes to the database.

      The fediverse has absolutely zero checks for those running things not to enforce whatever rules they want, just like any other social media.

      Unlike any other social media, people can just go set up their own instance or community, if they don’t like how things are being run.

      There is no “less power for the mods/admins” more just “power to the people to walk away without abandoning the aggregate platform as a whole”.

      And censorship is absolutely necessary and possible. How the fuck do you think mods and admins are keeping the nuts posting CP out?
