“I shall not go to the polls. I have not registered. I believe that democracy has so far disappeared in the United States that no “two evils” exist. There is but one evil party with two names, and it will be elected despite all I can do or say.” – W.E.B. DuBois (1956)

If this was posted a little after the election where one side is batshit crazy evil i would give it an upvote.

This is not an election where this rhetoric works. Not voting means handing power to fascism.

The quote is calling out the duopoly though, not just one or the other.

People can vote or not vote if they want to; that is their right as well. Third parties are an option, though.

Fascism is already here, with our police state and technofeudalism.

Third parties will not win a U.S election.

Reality is there will be another ruler and they will be either Democrat or Republican.

If the democrats do not win then America is lost. If Trump has one coherent message it’s that he is planning a total dictatorship ending the existence of elections and creating “a day of legal violence”

If the democrats do win then its the status quo of capitalist enshitification where we at least have a couple more years to protest the shit about our fundamentally broken society.

Third parties are the long-term solution to building up the working-class grassroots movements.

The fearmongering every four years only works on those voting for the duopoly; it has been used for many decades, the quote being an example of the status quo continuing.

We must demand higher standards from our politicians, first by not voting out of fear and working toward creating a better future outside the duopoly.

Rewarding genocide should not be an option, so third parties are the only choice some of us have.

“Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.” ― Frederick Douglass

What part of their wont be another opportunity to vote for any party under a dictatorship is so hard to grasp?

I agree with pretty much all you say in sentiment, we need a complete political reform but there is no time to play a long game here.

              Edit: wording

What part of their wont be another opportunity to vote for any party under a dictatorship is so hard to grasp?

Fearmongering is always used to keep the working class stuck voting for the duopoly; I am not nor do I support the duopoly.

Voting out of fear is much worse for our society.
