As a kid I watch a documentary about a reptile in the desert which was constantly making steps forward and backward with just a few more forward. That way the ants don’t know where it’s going and “flee” back and forth, effectively following the reptile.

Don’t know why I bring this up tho. Not implying that reptiloids use this tactic to move backwards
