    Why do you say that? I think it couldn’t be a more perfect description of the two.

      Because it’s a not well known phrase in French, including an accent mark and everything. It screams of trying to be fancy and trying to look smart. It’s sounds like an akshully fedora kid

        Waddaya mean not well known? For me it’s in like… the top twenty of french expressions.

          I wonder if I know any other expression than: oh lala… something! Yet, you know so many expressions that you can easily recall your own “top 20”. Perhaps you do speak French?.. Or I’m just a blatant ignorant xD

            Edit: I don’t really speak french, don’t even think I’ve spelled most of these correctly and I have no idea where the accents go. I think I mostly use the above expressions, since they’re occuring in German as well as in English.

          While that may be true, I think it’s a very safe guess that a significant majority of english speakers have never heard of it
