First cleanup - I just don’t think that the pinned posts are necessary, they are linked in sidebar. But it has some problems with federation (it wants to open them in browser). So I wanted to ask for your opinion on this.

And suggestions:

  • is there audience for general discussion thread once in ~3 months or something like that?
  • should I add some thumbnail picture?
  • what else?

Just to be clear I don’t think that this community needs more engagement - quality over quantity. Since my hobby became my job I didn’t homebrew for about year, so I don’t have much to post here (but I try to be active in comments).

So I want to hear your opinions on this and some suggestions.

Edit: mentioning @SpiderShoeCult@sopuli.xyz

I’d say we could probably remove the sticky from the intro posts around this time, to clear up the landing when coming here from ‘subscribed’.

I would also be pro a periodic general discussion like what have you brewed / tasted / whatever related to homebrewing.

slightly off-topic - sorry to hear the job’s bumming your lust for brewing. have you considered doing funky stuff like raw ales or using weird ingredients at home?

It is not that I don’t brew at all, now it is more seasonal (not beer) and I sometimes try small batches of recipes we want to brew on large scale. When you brew multiple times per week you just don’t want to do it also on weekends, so I started riding on bike a lot (~7500 km so far in 10 months lol).

On the community stuff, I wanted to leave some time to get feedback (it didn’t worked 1 person responded) and I think that it’s up long enough.

I just unpinned the posts. And for the discussion post I may get to it tomorrow or you can do it. They get usually some traffic for about a week and it is better to have them not that frequent. 1/month is probably best.
