We just had a friend go back to renew her birthright citizenship, we thought she was crazy but it was important to her, so glad she greased the right wheels, got it done quickly and made it back home safe. I wouldn’t go to that hell hole for a million bucks right now. For some reason my dad (last I talked to him5 years ago) swore it would be paradise and make the states look like 1980s Russia, I’m sure he would say the USA started the Russia/Ukraine war.

It’s a right call. Crossing a border puts a lot of attention on oneself, and with how the recent prisoners exchange went, they won’t mind a handful of new tokens. Hence the growing problems of fixing papers without visiting the country.

You’re the dual national, you willingly cross the border into a dictatorship where you’re a citizen, they do with you as they please. Why would anyone ever do that is beyond me. Don’t swap them. Those people get secret agents released back to the motherland cuz they wanted a fuckin birth certificate.
