Polar bears are massive. Terrifyingly massive.

A size comparison chart showing the height differences between a human adult and several different species of bear.

(No, I do not understand why the park ranger is so over-sexualized in this illustration.)

That picture is all sorts of weirdly insane.

It lists the park rangers height as nearly 2 meters, then 5ft, 9in. These are not the same thing, but okay. Then it shifts to a 3rd unit for the rest of measurments, cm. This is related to meters, but the “human scale but pervy” image we are supposed to understand doesnt use them at all. Her height should be listed as 175cm.

It then shows a towering monster of a polar bear, that is clearly at least 2x the rangers height, or roughly 4 meters. However, it lists the actual “bipedal height” of the polar bear as 270cm, or 2.7 meters, which is nowhere near 2x the park rangers height of 175cm, or 1.75 meters. That is far less grandiose of a difference than the image portrays it.

Whoever drew that was just plain wacky.

I mean, in all fairness, it’s only that big to keep it from sinking through the snow…. Saying that, I still wouldn’t want to see on in person
