If i go to an anarchist place its mainly related to social issues, if I go to a libertarian space itll simp for big corporations. I love the FOSS movement, but understandably they mainly focus on, well, FOSS, but I think their principles can be taken to other aspects of life too.
i cant really place myself as right or left but I know I love decentralization and personal autonomy. I want to try to limit the amount of money i spend to big corporations, changing to linux, lemmyverse, peertube, mastodon… was a good first step. Now im thinking of avoiding chain stores for food and trying to always buy produts 2nd hand.
oh well, kind of an introduction, kind of a discussion point, curious to hear from people here. Hope youre having a nice day :)
yeah so once you believe force at any kind is justified to force your ideals on society you’re not a libertarian of any kind as for your op yes this is community is for the discussion of freeing oneself from any abuse no matter the source
im not sure how a society could be without force though, doesnt really make sense to me, hows your view of how politics should be?
The person you replied to’s been on a very online streak the past couple days. Most of my post history was one long thread where they wouldn’t listen, don’t even try 💀. But I can say that if you want to live a lifestyle without needing big corps so much it’s hard to do without friends who have the same ideas. I’d see if you can find a Food Not Bombs near you and start volunteering on the weekends. People are really nice there in my experience
individuals should be free to engage in any activity they see fit with the state’s only legitimate role to protect the life, liberty and property of it’s citizens, any force therefore that is not in retaliation to the use of force by another person no matter if the intention is to create a just society based on one’s ideals is immoral
Are you by chance a fan of Atlas Shrugged? Your line of logic in this thread is in line with the ideas espoused in John Galt’s radio broadcast.
No I am not
It is fairly long, but you might enjoy it! I certainly did.
