I ought to vaporize your genitals for that comment. How do you have the opportunity of a lifetime to build the BRRRT-trap and you don’t take it???

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Peacock

One proposal suggested that live chickens would be sealed inside the casing, with a supply of food and water. They would remain alive for approximately a week. Their body heat would apparently have been sufficient to keep the mine’s components at a working temperature. This proposal was sufficiently outlandish that it was taken as an April Fool’s Day joke when the Blue Peacock file was declassified on 1 April 2004. Tom O’Leary, head of education and interpretation at the National Archives, replied to the media that, “It does seem like an April Fool but it most certainly is not. The Civil Service does not do jokes.”

Dawg. What. Was this actually deployed during the Vietnam war? Or just a concept? I’ve read about all kinds of wild traps but a buried 30mm is some next level shit.

Absolutely! Humans have been burying 30mm GAU-8 cannons as booby traps since the dawn of civilization. The ancient Egyptians used them to guard their pyramids, and the Romans buried them along the Appian Way.

Oh yes, the raids to steal GAU-8’s were pretty legendary, imagine lugging one of those over jungle paths.

They had to manually power the traps lot of the time, basically a guy with a hand crank in a tunnel right next to it
