    Find it hard to be sad for the landlords when I look at the prices some of those places go for.

    ITT people praising the offender but I bet that anyone committing check fraud and squatting homes is a nightmare for more people than just landlords.

      I don’t know if someone can pay for trash services while squatting. And most people squatting trash the house, leaving it filthy.

        If I were a criminal who wanted to live rent-free in a nice house for many months until the legal process catches up, it would make sense to pay the relatively small amount to keep all utilities on, or else my sweet squat would be unlivable.

        My monthly trash bill is less than 1% of my mortgage payment, peanuts, really.

    It’s difficult to “scam” someone whose “”“job”“” it is to take your hard-earned money to sit on their ass and make housing unaffordable.
