Bought a No.9 stainless the other day and love it but after reading about Opinel knives and the history I just needed a No.8 Carbone

They’re a classic for a reason, and that reason is consistency. You buy one today, you can count on it being a good knife, just like the one your dad bought. And, most likely, your kid will be able to do the same.

I put on an old sweater last week and in the pocket I found my old Opinel. I had not seen it for a year or more and was glad to discover it there. So simple and a joy to use.

I’ve needed a new knife for a while now and when I saw they have one with a pretty wood handle and a black coating on the blade I decided that’s gonna have to be what I get when I get mys replacement.

This might be heresy, but I do wish they had a flipper or something more than a nail nick though 😅

that would make them illegal in France. Even in this form they’re rather “tolerated”. Depending on who and where you are, they may be confiscated

on deadit there was a community called Opinel Mods where some posted their opinels with thumb studs. Looks like an easy mod
