Are there furry #ttrpgs?
Got on a train of thought while debating What To Do With Orcs (I don’t see how to fit them within my #dnd setting) when I realized that I could just have #Anthro #Hamsters fill their role. (I mean, they may be small, but I know my hampner would bite my finger off if I let him. Imagine one the size of a person) Which made me think, “Why not go all in on the furry?”
My question is, has a #furry #ttrpg been done? Like, one where you can #roleplay as your #fursona?
@Shkshkshk @furry asking if there are furry #ttrpgs is like asking if the ocean has water.
BUDDY, IT IS ALL WATER.
@Shkshkshk @furry
I could start naming furry rpgs now and not be done until dinner

I deleted every humanlike race from my DnD setting and I’ve still got 20+ different races in there, all furries

Mouseguard have been mentioned
Pugmire, Monarchies of mau https://www.realmsofpugmire.com/
Plenty of sci-fi games allow for heavy furryness
And yeah, you can take most systems and remove the humans and near-humans.
@furry
I should specify that the reason I am asking here is that I feel a drive to make a homebrew rpg, but if there’s a pre-existing rpg that fills the niche of “game with rules that make your fursona more than just flavor” I would rather just promote that instead of pouring my heart and soul into a knockoff. I’d rather have my work described as “the bastard child of 20 bad wattpad fanfics” instead of “We Have Albedo: the RPG at Home”.Have you looked at Mausritter? You play as mice, and it is OSR. My understanding is that it is in the print-and-play tradition.
Isn’t the image in the OP literally from Mausritter? :D
There’s also Mouseguard, which is similar in some ways. Very storytelling-heavy. Fun game.
Didn’t have space to clarify this, but I did some cursory research. Most things I came across were aimed at one specific species, whereas I would like more customizability. Technically, GURPS falls under the criteria of what I am looking for, since you can make literally any character that you can think of, which would by definition include all anthros.
@Shkshkshk @furry Many systems have anthro races available, or ways to adapt character races. Then there’s also Iron Claw, Jade Claw, and more recently Beast World. There are likely other only, or mostly, furry TTRPGs too.
@Shkshkshk @furry Probably #Humblewood is the most mainstream, but don’t sleep on vanilla #Traveller.

I’m too preoccupied with a different genre of at the moment to really dig into these, but I’d heard that Mutants In The Now and Mutants In The Next were both basically attempts to recapture the vibe of 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG while improving the mechanics.They are here:

Beast World is a furry 5e expansion and setting. It’s pretty comprehensive and interesting, though I haven’t had the opportunity to play it yet.
@Shkshkshk @furry original Gamma World would let you pay as a fursona I suppose (can’t day about later editions, I stopped paying attention a long time ago) and if you wanted you could make a campaign where there were no pure humans around (or make them the bad guys 😂).
Are you just wanting fantasy recommendations? If you’re open to Sci Fi ttrps, then there’s one I tried called Hc Svnt Dracones. I tried it a couple times, and it’s fun.
Gurps allows for it.
