This is not intended as “how to grow all your food you ever need at home”.
It merely provides the vegetables.
You still have to get your grains (and therefore the majority of your calories) from somewhere else.

Well no, but it still comes across a bit weird to say
Right. The whole “you do have space it’s just being used by something else”
And while I agree that the use of my lawn and driveway are not a good use of space, it’s just not practical to have a homestead like the one shown in our current suburb. Which is what I’m assuming the 1/10th of a lot of land will be in. Because if you’re anywhere in a rural area that can have a plot laid out in this style you’ll most likely also be working on more than a tenth of an acre.
