Project Q is the upcoming streaming only device that will allow you to play games installed on a PlayStation 5 remotely.
It has not been announced if the handheld will allow streaming of games from the cloud and is rumoured to cost between £250 - £300.

Will you be picking one up later this year?

If it could also do cloud streaming I could see this being a good budget option for people who can’t afford a PS5. Also people who don’t necesthave their own TV: teenagers, college students, people living with roommates, etc. It would need to be probably $100-$150, plus a subscription. As much as I hate subscriptions personally, I could see that doing well.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. This looks like it’s going to be an extra, expensive, niche accessory marketed towards wealthy people. But… Wealthy people already have home theaters.

If this is really local-only, and can’t do anything other than PS5 streaming, and will be $200-$300… Why not just get a Retroid Pocket 3+ for $150? Or an AYN Odin? Or even a Logitech G-Cloud that can at least has the flexibility of Android and can run some things locally.

And then the Steam Deck. I do the same as you: mix locla with streaming gameplay. I even stream from my PS4/5 with Chiaki sometimes. For $400 I feel like I’m getting 3-4x more functionality from the Deck, at least. I appreciate the Q will have a 1080p screen, and maybe some Dualsense features, but I don’t think that’s enough to sacrifice that much functionality at this price point.
