I saw a review that said the film looks a lot like Fury Road but has a distinct core. I haven’t seen the film … does this fit?

Yeah, I guess it looks like Fury Road a lot more than it feels like it. There are fewer vehicle combat scenes, and the movie covers a longer period of time

Less epic and focused than the original, it was still very exciting during action parts. It had some strange vfx tho

Thought it was good, not great. Definitely not the “you had to be there” big screen experience that Fury Road was.

I was surprised that Anya Taylor-Joy didn’t even show up until an hour into the film.

Saw it on IMAX, the action scenes were less exciting than fury road, probably because they were just a derivative of the scenes from Fury Road. The plot was thin, just a run of the mill revenge story. Wouldn’t recommend it unless you are a mad Max devotee.

I haven’t seen fury road, but I liked this film a lot. The break up in parts and slower pacing was a great way to tell the story. I bought the ticket on a whim and I’m really happy I did.

    My score: 9/10

It’s been resolved! Just wish these films were longer so I could enjoy them for longer.

Imagine being told in the 80s that a Mad Max film was going to be such a cinematic triumph, that it was going to be nominated for ten Oscars, including Best Picture, and it would win six of them.
I would have told you to fuggedaboutit! Getouttahere! Ya nutjob.

Well I’m gladly eating crow. Other than some occasional weird CGI this movie was awesome. And I was down on Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth but both of them were awesome.

I’ve never gotten around to see Furiosa. It’s a bit weird 'cause I love the Mad Max movies. But the casting Anja and Chris kinda made me lose interest, eventhough I know them both to be fine actors.

I think maybe it’s because Hollywood has a tendency to shove their “darlings” into as much as possible when they peak. And I’ve probably just had my fill.

Well, yeah. It kinda means the series was about expanding the universe, not just cashing in on a current success film.

Mind you , I do think George Miller is still in that mindset… But I’m also kinda afraid he’s bowing down to some typical Hollywood shenanigans.
