Hey if they can even come close to the greatness of the latest Puss in Boots movies, I’m all in.
Oh that’s super interesting! Really liked the book and Studio Laika has made some awesome stop motion films.
Thanks!
Good suggestion. Done!
Thanks for posting but I’m going to remove this because it’s basically a duplicate of https://lemm.ee/post/34539190 which was posted an hour before hand.
Do you think at some point it would be worthwhile to start a television community on lemm.ee as well? I know right now !movies@lemm.ee is for both but eventually I imagine it might be best to separate them.
Oh that’s awesome! I’ve been wanting this for years now. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Blaze! Appreciate all the work you do moderating and promoting communities and helping the lemmyverse grow.
haha. this is genuinely funny
5 years is short lived?
Agreed! Glad you enjoyed it. It was my favourite animated show of last year.
It’s on Netflix now and apparently they are considering picking it up for season 2 depending on how season 1 performs for them. Not sure how it’s doing, it’s only been like a week since it premiered on Netflix. Hopefully it does well.
I disagree with your premise. Not only do those types of shows continue to air to this day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, South Park) but newer shows as well (Veep, Big Mouth, Solar Opposites, etc).
Scarlett #1 - Been fairly interested in the Energon Universe and so far have only read Transformers. Feels like a good entry point to see if I’ll like the G.I. aspect of the universe.
Kaya #19 - This continues to be one of my favourite indies. Wes Craig has crafted a really fun world with excellent characters. #19 is probably going to be the start of a new story arc.
X-Men #35 - I always struggled to really get into the X-Men comics longterm, but following the hype of X-Men '97 I figured might as well try again, especially considering that this issue is supposed to be a transition to their new era.
Birds of Prey #10 - Really looking forward to this. Birds of Prey is the best ongoing Big 2 book imo and one of the few I regularly check out.
I’m surprised you thought Castlevania looked bad? I’m not the biggest fan of the show but I thought the animation, especially during the fight scenes was great.
Damn that looks crazy trippy. Love the style. What’s the concept of the book?
Haha yeah. It’s an unfortunate side effect of the fact that animation in the English speaking world is still mostly associated as kids focused entertainment by the broader population.
Well I’m gladly eating crow. Other than some occasional weird CGI this movie was awesome. And I was down on Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth but both of them were awesome.
Grim #17 - Grim has been solid throughout but one of my main criticisms was that the characters weren’t super fleshed out. However character focused interludes like this one really help.
Read a couple of DC stuff today including Wonder Woman #9 which continues be really good.
Going to read SIKTC tomorrow
Man, their run from the 90s to the end of the 2000s is absolutely incredible. Even films like A Bug’s Life and Cars are pretty great. It’s a pity that since then outside of a few films (Inside Out is a personal favourite) it’s been a very uneven filmography at best. I think their decline a few years after Disney’s purchase is very disappointing.
!animation@lemm.ee is doing pretty well. Last couple of weeks I have started getting other people posting so I’m not feeling as pressured to find something to post every day. There was also a lot of news to share due to the recent Annecy festival. Now that it’s over, the associated subscriber growth has slowed down a little bit, but I do have some ideas to have more discussion and conversation starters rather than mostly just news all the time.
