There‘s a much bigger chance of Labour fucking this up. I mean, after Corbyn they were very adamantly highlighting their neo-liberal credentials.

The point is that the most active voters are older ones and they are much more likely to vote conservatively than younger voters, who are more likely to vote progressively.

From someone who has been having out this fight across the pond,

For the love of god country and cadbury, drag every last man woman and anyone else you can to the polls to vote for the most viable non Tory candidate, even if you have to do it by their hair. The militant non voters will be upon you to rally for the tories under your noses soon, and if you fail to take them seriously when you have this chance to obliterate the tories you’ll truly have your own Trump as consequence.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Rishi Sunak will this afternoon call a surprise early election for July, senior sources have told the Guardian, a contest that will see Keir Starmer try to take power for Labour after 14 years of Conservative-led government.

The prime minister is set to announce the election will be in the early summer, with speculation that it will be held on 4 July, after claiming inflation was back under control and the economy was improving.

Labour is about 20 points ahead in the polls and Starmer is widely expected to become the next prime minister after transforming his party since its historic election defeat almost five years ago.

Sunak will make the announcement after a day of febrile speculation in Westminster, triggered by rare good economic news for the government and an unusually timed Cabinet meeting, with senior ministers changing their plans to attend.

The prime minister, who has long said his “working assumption” was that the election would be held in the second half of the year, was previously thought likely to wait until the autumn and a further tax-cutting budget before holding a contest when so far behind.

Sources suggested that “wash-up”, when the government finalises non-contentious bits of legislation, would take place next week before parliament is dissolved, which also points to a July 4 election.

The original article contains 317 words, the summary contains 218 words. Saved 31%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
