They would get along splendidly. “Illegal black magic u say? As long as i learn more spells, im in!”
They’d also get along really well by sobbing uncontrollably with existential dread because they’re gonna outlive all their companions.
oh God, yeah that would actually be such a good moment. a late series frieren that has finally come to terms with her feelings getting to talk it all over with a seemingly very young elf.
or, i could see an earlier frieren having someone like marcille help get realize her own feelings. or maybe both of them to realize what it is that they fear together.
they could do a lot with those two characters meeting in frieren. on the other hand, frieren would fit very strangely in dungeon meshi. her methods and motivations would probably make her clear that dungeon overnight with a self satisfied smile and a giddy joy at the magic tome she got from it. might be a bit anti climactic.
Marcy is 50 according to her character sheet. So yeah, very young as far as elves go. Though in Dungeon Meshi a normal elven lifespan is 500. As opposed to Frieren who still appears child-like at a 1000.
They do make for a very fun cross-over pair. They are two very different characters that both deal with some of the same problems. But the worlds they inhabit are also very different. There’s a bona-fide imperial elven civilization in Dungeon Meshi, that is ahead in basically all things magic (though dwarves are on top technologically, hence their equal footing in the ancient world war between them).
Have you read the manga? Dungeons are not really something you “clear” in the Dungeon Meshi world. They don’t really have a final level.
spoiler about the nature of dungeons in Dungeon Meshi
In fact they don’t exist entirely in a real dimension. As the levels go deeper, they intrude into another plane. Another dimension that just keeps going.
spoiler about the mad sorcerers spellbook
And the book she’d get out of it would be equivalent to discovering nuclear weapons. Potentially world-ending.
I have started watching friren, for me I can’t binge watch it because I quickly burn out on it for this specific anime but its nice to put on an episode or two if you’re in the right mood for it
I powered through the first 10 episodes because I thought it was boring. Then it clicked and I enjoyed it.
Now it’s one of those shows where I see myself watching every few years to catch more details.
Sigh. And who are they?
In case you’re asking, that’s Frieren, another elf character, from the anime Sousou no Frieren.
She is known for consistently falling for mimics.
Thanks!
And the other one?
Marcille from Dungeon Meshi, the community for which this is posted in :D
Marcille is a young (50) elf, and a member of the main cast. They are dungeon delving into the island dungeon in an attempt to save Falin, another mage and party member. She was left on one of the lower levels when she teleported the rest of them to the surface to help them escape a fight with a dragon gone wrong.
Marcille, Laios, Chilchuck, and a new acquaintance named Senshi, head into the dungeon to retrieve Falin, cooking and eating the monsters they slay along the way. They were left penniless and unable to buy provisions. Hence the name of the series, “Dungeon Food” or the english version, Delicious in Dungeon.
It’s very, very good. As they get deeper into the dungeon, the word-building gets more meticulous and interesting. More and more things go wrong, and not always in a lighthearted way that the initial comedic premise might suggest.
this is the dungeon meshi community. don’t act annoyed that they didn’t name one of the main characters from the series.
Im not annoyed, just curious
It’s a reasonable thing to ask about, considering the post got big enough to be found by people browsing all.
When that happens I we welcome the visitors, and show them around the place.
Hell yeah. Get up in that Ass, Marcille! Up in Frieren’s whole ass!
(I’m sure there’s dozens of Curb fans who also watch Dungeon Meshi and Frieren right?)
