Instead of cross-posting the same thing to two to three suitable communities each time, it now posts two to three different things to different communities each time.
Cross-posts instead come later and can be any one of the following posts, eventually each thing gets posted to everywhere it fits in, but no longer at the same point in time.
This is because when I post the same thing at the same time to many places, the most popular post takes off and de-duplicates the others out of existence.
The hope is that this way my smaller communities actually get some attention and growth from posts that also fit in on the ones that already have more subs. And maybe some more people get to see the content, too.
