Extremely interesting platform, finally a good alternative to reddit. :glowing star: The only real complaint I have is the design of the platform: it’s right in the middle between modern and raw. I would much rather like if it focused on one of the two approaches.

Is there a possibility that we can see a graph showing the amount of lemmy users in time?

I don’t have anything set up currently… obvi it is possible bc I have the DB which has a time series of user and join times.

I’m new to lemmy, but honestly I could’nt be more excited being a part of this amazing community, and I hope lemmy stays here longer than reddit!

I just saw this on HN and thought: Oh well another community, but clicked on it. WOW, it is by far the fastest community website I ever saw. Can be really a good reddit replacement. I’m impressed! Keep going!

I’m not sure, I don’t really follow the development, but I think there are a couple of instances for testing federtation, and also some component that are already federated, but not fully functional yet, but it seems that federation is the main priority atm.

Congratulations! I only joined a few days ago, but I already feel at home. Once federation hits, the numbers will go even higher. Onwards and upwards!

Hope to see this place grow and for Lemmy instances to pop up everywhere. A federated alternative to Reddit is a great idea. For some reason the pages don’t always like to load for me (occasionally get a never-ending spinning circle, when viewing or trying to post) but that may just be the sheer amount of users now.

Also would love to see more themes than the existing ones (especially ones with smaller text). All the themes I like are just too big for me. Maybe I should try creating one. 🤔

A reddit alternative, federated, FOSS and named after Lemmy Kilmister, I’m in.
