Whenever I see stuff like this I can’t help but hear Jill Bearup in my head commenting on why the armour has protective value or is just “for show”.

Biggest drawbacks in this lineup - no helmets and the usage of “combat wedges”

“Rule of Cool” is a perfectly valid pillar of character design.

I enjoy a fictional world that makes sense, but there’s value in something simply being neat to look at, too.

Oh for sure, the “armour rating” thing is just a fun thing. Whoever made these clearly thought about it at least a bit and overall the designs are awesome.

#2 & #3 were my personal favourites, closely followed by #4 (mostly due to the impractically oversized sword). #7 & #8 also look pretty good (though those two would probably need help getting their armour on). #1, #5 & #6 mostly got left behind because I dislike the thigh-high aesthetic. #9 gives off “not actually armour” vibes with that gorgeous red cloak.

Also, Jill Bearup’s tier list for reference.
