Some very interesting conversation on the generational gap in Russia. There was an article on the Finnish publication Voima which also talked about this in relation to the band t.A.T.u. The band sort of represents the whole 30 year era with how a Russian band was at the forefront of pushing gay represantation on the noses of US American live television shows, leading to censorship of mere kisses of between two girls. Fast forward 20 years and you can get a picture of how these two countries have diverged.

Like Roman says, it is an enormous tragedy for the Russian people to have their future been reduced to the continuation and return of the same years of opression and worlwide isolation they were so close to escaping. I do agree with our previous president Tarja Halonen in that Russia shouldn’t be excluded in the very long term, even if short/medium term is inevitable.

With how the entire planet is facing a climate catastrophe, these wars are the absolute last thing we need.
