minus-squareblackn1ght@feddit.uklinkfedilinkarrow-up7·7 months agoI don’t even “hear” lyrics in songs! Is it typical for albums to have songs that tell an overall story?
minus-squareNeato@ttrpg.networklinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·edit-27 months agoYeah. There are Rock operas which are albums that tell a unified story, but not one which is meant to be acted out like an actual opera. The Doors Who album Tommy was one of the first to be billed as such. As well as most of what The Protomen and The Mechanisms have put out.

minus-squareKillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·7 months agoa lot of times albums will have a flow from song to song. Sometimes they just have a collection of different songs, usually a thematic album will have an overall feel to it.
