Fair enough. There’s definitely good reason to not want that either though. To characterize Trump’s control over the party as troubling would be the understatement of the century.
The fact that Biden doesn’t wield the same influence is a good thing IMHO. It does present challenges in that some legislation has a more difficult time getting through since the left is slightly less unified than the right, it means that the left is less bereft of sycophants who simply do what they’re told. They are more likely to use their brains and represent their constituents better.
He isn’t powerless though. Mike Johnson blocked the border bill, and is blocking any other bill exactly, because he told him to do it.
He currently isn’t holding any office, but the GOP is still doing what he tells them.
Him not having power is only on paper.
Trump has more control of the GOP Congress than Biden does of the Dems in Congress.
Well… I’m not sure I’d want the President to control the legislature, regardless of who the incumbent is. Checks and balances and such…
