Honestly I wouldn’t even say the bots are that much harder, just harder to learn. The bugs are pretty straightforward comparatively I think.

The tactics of fighting bots are more complex and nuanced, and not as apparent as “shoot the closest chitterer” which works against bugs for pretty far.

Once you have a grasp of the enemies, the bots actually become more manageable than bugs, because when you learn to handle drop ships, you can reduce the amount of enemies a lot better than by anything you can do against bug breaches.

Also no Stalkers/Hunters that can throw a wrench into a well prepared methodical gameplan.

Bugs would also be a bit more manageable if we could throw grenades into bug breach holes, like in HD1. Current strategy to manage the incoming tide is napalm or gas, though napalm is the preferred strategy right now.

Napalm leaves lots of chaff alive, it’s a theory that the dot damage doesn’t properly apply to from non-host players. Gas actually works better for now.

That said, you can destroy a drop ship every 10 seconds with the Quasar, and even from very far, so it’s still a L for bugs in every aspect.
