❤️ Ukrainian polar explorers met a fur seal on Deception Island in Antarctica who was “sunbathing” on an old boat
Usually fur seals lie on flat rocky areas or beaches, but this one clearly decided to distinguish itself.
On the volcanic Deception Island, Ukrainian scientists collected samples of unique local vegetation. There are also Spanish and Argentine seasonal research stations there.

I am so fucking upset right now. Upset isn’t even the right word but I can’t think of the right one for this mix of emotions.
I was just thinking about how bad the world was with everything going on right now and for a minute I was actually happy thinking that I was going to see a seal sunbathing.
Especially in the Ukrainian sub because of how shitty things are there and who doesn’t like seeing random wildlife just chilling, and how much those guys need a boost.
