If the wait leads to a better product, and less stress on the animators to get it out, I’m all for it. With so many delays with other anime recently, hopefully more studios do stuff like this.

I tried giving the first volume a go; not my thing. Gonna stick with the animation. The style of writing felt awkward.

And volume 23 just came out in English yesterday! Volume 24 comes out in October and vol 25 comes out in December, so you can actually read the full main storyline before the end of the year. Vol 26, Redundancy, is side stories and an epilogue and going by the current release schedule it should come out early next year.

I highly recommend reading the books if anyone is interested in this series. I just rewatched season 1 in anticipation of season 2 and while it was a great adaptation, I found myself explaining a lot of extra details that got skipped to my brother after each episode.

They really do! I feel like ever since the anime started airing they really increased the translation speed. When I read the series in 2019 only the first 4 were translated and I had to switch to the WN. Seeing where they’re at I’ll probably reread it all soon.

Thanks for the info about the release dates … I still wasn’t aware that Vol. 20 and follow-ups are available. I think I know what I will do this weekend.
