Haha, it’s not too tricky. Some tips:

      • Stick to bug missions on Suicide difficulty.
      • Make sure you’re doing the 40 minute missions, because the shorter ones either don’t spawn them or you won’t have enough time to farm them.
      • Super Samples only spawn in one location, which is underneath a rock shaped like a chicken drumstick (feel free to Google it for pictures).
      • Your main goal is to find that drumstick. You can complete side objectives and clear bug layers (on cloudy maps, killing the Spore Spewers is a must - and can be done at 400+ meters with a single Expendable Anti-Tank rocket).
      • Do not complete the main objective until you’ve found the samples. Completing the main objective drastically ramps up enemies and makes it exponentially more difficult to farm for resources.
      • Once you do find the samples, should be 3 on Suicide, immediately take them back and drop them at the extract point before continuing the main objective. Otherwise you can die in an overrun spot and won’t be able to get them back.
      • Then proceed with the main mission. You’ll probably be low on time at this point if it took a while to find the drumstick rock, so you might have to ignore everything else. Don’t worry about 100%ing the mission XP or credits - you’re here for the samples!
      • That’s pretty much it. Don’t forget to pick up the samples when you call for the extraction!

It’s pretty easy to get common samples on the kill X number of bugs/bots missions. You can stick around after the extract ship shows up and collect them since the enemies stop spawning.

You’re probably confusing super and rare here.

This thread did make me realize that super samples are so rare that some people don’t even know they exist!
