Maybe. Or maybe the average person can use Meta’s decentralized instance and the non-average can use the smaller, less popular one. I’m down with that.
The thing is that if Metas one big instance gets big enough, they can hold the people you know hostage with a mismatched feature-set to force users to move over to their system. EEE. XMPP.
