You’re preaching to the choir, friend. I know the stats, Lemmy even provides the numbers on unique users that have interacted with a community in the last day, week, month, and half a year. I’m not looking to get drowned in praise or anything. If all I wanted was votes, I’d just spam Lemmy with pics of my cat, and stop trying to make !vtubervids@ani.social a thing.

I don’t care about upvotes. I care about contributing content and getting some indication that at least someone liked seeing it, in return. I don’t care whether that’s a single comment or upvote, but if I don’t see that, why spend the effort? The point here is to contribute, if no-one is around to enjoy what I contribute, I’d rather spend my energy elsewhere.

I don’t look for votes because I want to rack up a bunch of karma, I do it to make sure I’m not wasting my time on things no-one wants to see, or going about posting in a way that isn’t getting visibility.
