Two decades after Scott Peterson was sentenced to death for the murder of his pregnant wife in a high-profile trial, the Los Angeles Innocence Project said this week that it had taken up the case.
The development marks a significant breakthrough for the 51-year-old, who has long maintained his innocence and has claimed he received an unfair trial.
In court filings this week, which were first reported by ABC News, the project, which seeks to exonerate those who have been wrongfully convicted, argued that new evidence supports Peterson’s “claim of actual innocence” and “raises many questions into who abducted and killed Laci and Conner Peterson”.
I followed the case closely at the time and he seemed guilty as hell.
I’m curious what new evidence could have turned up after all these years that could overcome the evidence the guy killed his pregnant wife to continue an affair.
In cases like these there’s always a bunch of guys who cheat on their wives grasping at straws to exonerate a peer.
I’d say look into the innocence project and see if they have any type of agenda. That should lead you to a somewhat more informed conclusion.
Yup their agenda is find people who’s cases may not have been handled correctly and get it corrected. Not saying the guy is or isn’t innocent but if they are taking it up it’s something to watch
People with good motives can be taken in by people with evil motives.
