You’ll need the exact name in the !name@instan.ce format, or the url to that thing for the instance its on (on kbin you always have to use the full kbin url)
Then, paste that into search on your instance, and this will make it “update the archives”. It can take a sec, it might say “no results” for like minute. But after its been done, the link should work!
In the future it likely will. There’s nothing that should prevent this, its just not there in the code yet. I know friendica is able link if you just type its name.
And for now, there’s more important stuff, like actual game-breaking bugs that need fixing.
Interesting thing I’ve noticed on kbin is that itseems to say it was created at that moment and it always says earnest is the owner and only mod. I’m assuming this is just work in progress and will be fixed but it’s kinda weird.

Yes, not everything seems to translate over as it should at the moment. And kbin does not backfill old content, and it is unclear if it ever will.
