Yeah I was very…whelmed by this season. It was fine, although it felt like 95% set up for season 2 instead of a self-contained story with some dangling threads. I really didn’t like Thrawn, doesn’t feel at all like he did in the books or even in Rebels. I also don’t like any of the Dathomir stuff, I know Star Wars is space fantasy but that just feels like too much. We never even saw ‘normal’ Imperial officers, I wanted to see Thrawn on the bridge, not just hanging out on that pillar with the great mothers all the time.

At the same time, it had some nice moments, good music, and interesting new characters (Baylan). It’s a shame we’ve probably seen the last of him on screen.

Well said. It was ‘whelming’ and Thrawn just didn’t quite get the portrayal that the character deserved. I don’t fault the actor as much as the season’s plotting and writing. The character came off as a strategist, but not to the same level as a Lex Luthor of the Star Wars universe in terms of intellect and strategy. I’ll keep an open mind though and hope future storylines address some of these concerns. Andor, Rogue One and peak-level Mandalorian remain the best of Star Wars TV/movies for the last decade or so in my opinion.

Yeah Andor just raised the bar on what Star Wars can be and it’s definitely put the rest of the shows in a different light. Season 1 Mandalorian was a similar revelation.

Also think Thrawn looks like blue Elon Musk lol.
