Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
Rimu

What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?

Kicking from all Matrix PieFed rooms

Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

Rimu has been manufacturing non-stop drama for weeks. He ignores multiple offers from multiple parties to de-escalate, and now he bans someone for trying to promote non-discriminatory language. He has also now cut off a PieFed admin from any and all support and ability to contribute to the software.

Oh and the real kicker ? Rimu did all this after his big grand post about how he is stepping back from drama and hiding away from users.

I wasn’t even aware that ‘supid’ now has become ableist too.

It seems that Mia either is whiteknighting or trying to find reasons to leverage non-existing power over others for fun. Not that that excuses Rimu’s behaviour. BPR

Seriously, that’s your takeaway? That Mia provoked the ban by asking politely for a simple wording change? It’s ptb all the way. I’ve never met a developer more hostile to the opinions of his own user base.

I know neither Mia nor Rimu, so I have little prejudice against either.

Rimu clearly went overboard in the snippet, there’s no reeling that in anymore. He does sound very tired, like he’s been slighted more than once, but that was a whack example to come swinging with out of context.

That said, I cannot label Mia’s first comment as purely good faith either. If this Rimu is a well known personality with well known peeves, and Mia was aware of this, then it would be more akin to trolling or rage-baiting. Otherwise it would simply be ignorant or unlucky.

Either way, I’ve known neither till before this post, so I’m not gonna pretend I know what’s going on in a broader sense, nor even be as audacious as to pretend to know what’s going on in their heads.

      You’re one of today’s lucky 10,000.

All she asked was for a name to be changed and showed a webpage explaining the issue. That is called being a decent person, only a fascist would call that “white knighting”.

In that case, let me be a ‘decent person’ and link to a source which explains why you should change your choice of words.

Do note that I do not actually agree with the above, but want to point out the fallacy of your latter statement. Also, I’m not sure I’d trust the words from a website using a slur in their name, regardless of how it is meant to be interpreted.

Sorry, I understood it as an argument with a claim. Eg. “anyone who asks for change while providing any source of information, regardless of how flawed it is or whether the person in question even represents those whom this change might affect, is a decent person”. Claiming that “anyone who calls out other people doing so, even if the other did it in bad faith,” must be a fascist.

That said, English isn’t my first language, so I might very well have used fallacy wrong.
