Another Linux phone is tempting, but I am probably just never going to buy a new phone again. Just get something for free that someone else is getting rid of, or a very cheap second hand phone.
Tbh at this point I don’t even really want a phone, but I need a phone number for this stupid society we live in. Otherwise I would be quite happy with a pi (zero?) sellotaped to the back of a USB powered display panel and powered by a few USB powerbanks taped together and a bluetooth keyboard. Briefcase pi with a month worth of power through multiple battery packs would be amusing.
I kinda miss the days of the old PDAs and palmtops. A Pi phone seems like a good idea until you realise it basically has to be the size of a netbook. Might as well get an old netbook and stick Puppy Linux or whatever on it.
Pi zero can be smaller, similar specs to a pinephone but with less RAM. I think the GPU is better too. Small but chunky tablet is probably about the best you could get by mounting everything to the back of a display.
