The white moderate have always been happy to ignore Black and Brown people being brutalized by the government, that’s why MLK warned about them in his letter from Birmingham Jail. It takes bloodied white faces for them to realize fascism is coming for all of us.

Obviously the opinions of fascists don’t matter. They love to watch “race traitors” die. But it’s not like every pro-gun Republican is a race war Helter Skelter gunfucker that wants to mow down all their neighbors. They’re mostly just ordinary people that believe guns are for protection and this is the exact moment they were told guns were supposed to protect us from.

That means that the historical role white people play in the struggle against white supremacist society is as the bodies on the front line. This is when that white privilege can be used to actually help everyone, instead of just helping white people like it always has.

You’re still ignoring the fact that white people were already upset about ICE even before white people were murdered.

If your critique is limited to right-wing 2A gun nuts, fair enough. But at least make that clear in your critique instead of talking about “white people” as some general, abstract category with a homogeny of opinions.

And the fact that you’re assigning anybody a “role” or “duty” to die as “bodies on the frontline” based exclusively on race tells me enough that you’re probably not worth seriously engaging in conversation.

Because yes, we all know it’s such a privilege to become cannon fodder if you’re a white person. If anyone else dies, it’s an injustice, but if a white person is made a victim then they had the privilege of being a victim. That’s what you’re saying.
